2016 Alabama Bass Trail schedule announced, begins at Lake Martin

Alabama anglers can get excited about the 2016 Alabama Bass Trail tournament schedule, announced earlier this month. The Alabama Bass Trail Tournament Series is the largest team trail in Alabama and has seen great success in its first two years._DSC6198

The 10-lake team-style tournament series will kick off at Lake Martin on February 20, 2016. There are two divisions, North and South. Each division will host five tournaments, each on a different lake in the division. Six of the tournaments next year will take place on an Alabama Power lake, including Smith, Neely Henry, Weiss, Martin, Lay and Jordan. The championship tournament will take place on Lake Eufaula October 7-8 2016.

Single entries will not be allowed in 2016 and the maximum boats for each tournament will be 225 boats. Teams must fish in all five tournaments in their division.

North Division

February 27, 2016 – Lewis Smith Lake
March 19, 2016 – Lake Guntersville
April 23, 2016 – Pickwick Lake
May 21, 2016 – Neely Henry Lake
June 18, 2016 – Weiss Lake

South Division

February 20, 2016 – Lake Martin
March 12, 2016 – Lay Lake
April 9, 2016 – Mobile Tensaw Delta
May 14, 2016 – Alabama River Millers Ferry
June 4, 2016 – Lake Jordan

This weekend, Logan Martin Lake will host one of Alabama Bass Trail’s 2015 tournaments on May 9. The tournament launch and weigh-in will take place at Pell City Park.
