Smith Lake Memorial Day Festival
Location: Smith Lake Park.
Time/Date: Saturday, May 27, 8 a.m.
Description: Featuring craft and food vendors, country and bluegrass music, an ice cream-eating contest, a golf cart/bicycle parade and more, the Smith Lake Memorial Day Festival is fun for the whole family.
RXR Music Fest
Location: Town Green at Russell Crossroads, Lake Martin.
Time/Date: Friday-Saturday, May 26-28, 6 p.m.-10 p.m.
Description: Enjoy music on the green for Memorial Day Weekend at The Town Green at Russell Crossroads May 26 & 27 and special festivities at SpringHouse on May 28. Bring your chairs and coolers and join your family and friends for a great weekend of music and fun.
Art on the Lake
Location: Children’s Harbor, Lake Martin.
Time/Date: Saturday, May 27 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and May, 28, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Description: Art on the Lake, scheduled for Memorial Day weekend 2017, provides an opportunity for artists from all over the Southeast to showcase their art. Original work, including canvas, jewelry, pottery and sculpture are available for purchase with a portion of the sale benefitting Children’s Harbor.
2017 Memorial Weekend Boat Parade
Location: Coosa River/Neely Henry Lake. Boat assembly area: Little Bridge Marina/Rainbow Landing
Time/Date: Saturday, May 27, 1 p.m.
Description: Boaters are encouraged to decorate their boats with an American flag and red/white/blue themes to show off their Memorial Day spirit. Boats will need to be assembled before they will depart at 1 p.m. and follow the lead boats south to approximately Broughton Springs, then reverse course and head up river towards Gadsden’s Coosa Landing/Riverfront Park.
