What to do on the lakes in October

Fall is officially here and you don’t want to miss one of these seasonal events at one of our favorite lakes this month. Check out one of the Renew Our Rivers cleanups, as well.

LAKE JORDAN

Halloween Carnival

Saturday, Oct. 21

5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Camp Chandler

Cost: $5 per child

Join Camp Chandler for a night of carnival games, a little pumpkin playhouse, cake walk and raffle, trick-or-treating, silent auction, McGilvery Plantation Haunted Hike and a costume contest. All proceeds support the Camper Scholarship Fund.

 

LOGAN MARTIN LAKE

Costumes on the Tennis Court tournament

Thursday, Oct. 26

10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Pell City Civic Center

Cost: $35 for adults, $25 for kids

Proceeds benefit the Pell City Rotary Foundation. Registration includes a T-shirt and door prizes, and adult winners receive a trophy.

 

LAKE MARTIN

Fall Family Festival
Saturday, Oct. 28
10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Russell Crossroads

Cost: $25 per family

The whole family can enjoy this old-fashioned event complete with hayrides, horseback rides, pumpkin carving and bingo. Bring your favorite baked and canned goods and enter in the Canning/Baking Contest.
