Alabama Power plans two temporary closures on our lakes this week.
The tailrace fishing pier at Logan Martin Dam will be closed from Wednesday, Aug. 17 until Friday, Aug. 19 to replace the handrails.
Additional informal/unimproved downstream bank fishing is available at the Kelly Creek boat launch in St. Clair County (approximately 3 miles by road from Logan Martin Dam) and at Glover’s Point Park in Talladega County (approximately 7 miles by road). A tailrace fishing pier is also available on the downstream east bank at Neely Henry Dam, approximately 35 miles by road from Logan Martin Dam.
The Jordan tailrace access areas (Coosa License Project #2168 — boat ramp and fishing pier) will be closed from Monday, Aug. 15 until Friday, Aug. 19 for road repairs. If the project is completed early, the site will be reopened. For further details about Alabama Power lakes, download the free Alabama Power Shorelines app to your mobile device.
