Alabama Power is preparing to begin the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission process to obtain a new operating license for the R.L. Harris Project (FERC No. 2628). This process involves a multiyear evaluation of the environmental, operational and economic resource issues at the Harris Project.
On Jan. 31, Alabama Power will host a Harris Project Operations Information Meeting at Wedowee Marine South (9681 Highway 48, Lineville, AL 36266), from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The purpose of the operations meeting is to present how the Harris Project normally operates, as well as how it operates during drought conditions and flood events. Stakeholders can also sign up to participate on resource-specific Harris Action Teams and learn more about the next steps in the FERC relicensing process.
This meeting is free and open to the public. Lunch will be provided, so if you plan to attend, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call Cecile Jones at 205-257-1701 on or before Jan. 22.
