In Alabama, enjoying the lakes and the great outdoors never stops. Alabama Power has rolled out two new updates to the Shorelines app to enhance your experience on the lakes.
The revamped app now includes several exciting features designed to provide more convenient access for lake-goers.
What can you expect from the new updates and the Shorelines app?
- A new home screen widget to view information in real time.
- A new watch interface to view lake levels on your favorite smartwatch.
- Notifications about generator activity and lake levels on as many lakes as you want.
- The option to customize your notifications, only receiving them on preferred days.
- Daily weather conditions.
- The latest lake-related news and stories.
“These updates expand the Shorelines app to now include widgets and watch support – for both Android and Apple devices,” said Tony Coleman, digital strategy and innovation manager at Alabama Power. “This makes it easier than ever for users to stay updated on the latest lake conditions.”
Alabama Power manages more water than any other entity in the state, with 11 company-owned lakes. These reservoirs cover 157,000 acres of land and span 4,000 miles of shoreline, with over 65 recreational sites, including boat ramps, day-use parks, walking trails and fishing areas.
